Klankzicht studio is the brainchild of world class recording, mixing and mastering engineer Jan Theodoor Borger.

‘Already since early age, I was drawn to music and technology. Playing with the earliest Cubase version on Atari ST is one of my first memories of producing music. Later on I started playing in bands on the drums and guitar. After my high school I graduated (MA) from Utrecht school of Arts in Studio Technology where Eelco Grimm and Onno Scholtze were my most important mentors. Music plays a very important role in my life from my earliest childhood memories. It will continue to do so for the rest of my life.’

My curiosity always drove me to seek the concepts behind creating records. The whole reasoning behind the application of technology (in music) was an endeavour I follow through my whole career. It resulted in an high-end approach in recording music while maintaining the colors and atmospheres which are so important in pop music.

Beside being an engineer/producer, I am a musician too. The main project I work on is UNIFONY with my musical brother and long time partner Minco Eggersman.
To not only sit behind the knobs but to know the struggle which can occur sitting behind the microphone is for me a first hand experience which is helpful while working with others in the studio.

QUOTES

Deep Cycles perhaps is the most immaculately produced and executed album I’ve ever heard. There is not a note or a nuance throughout it that isn’t perfectly judged and exquisitely balanced. Its flawlessness is mesmerising.
